چکیده

Abstract Monitoring population trends of alien species is pivotal to design effective management plans preserve native biodiversity, particularly urban areas, where most populations birds are established. Urban wildlife rescue centers, with personnel trained record species, age and sex each individual brought by the public, may represent a reliable citizen-science based method estimate both local changes in phenology trends. In this work, we analysed records monk ring-necked parakeets comparing area Rome from last 15 years. We also tested whether breeding showed any since start invasion processes. recorded strong correlation between number rescued their trends, thus confirming importance centers monitoring areas. observed shift these parakeet species. The hatching peak for occurred early spring, line previous studies on reproduction but slight increase months evidence As parakeet, our findings support expansion its reproductive season 2006 2020 Rome, chicks currently being seven year. Therefore, data collected through help improving models growth established

Assessing citizen science data quality: an invasive species case study

An increase in the number of citizen science programs has prompted an examination of their ability to provide data of sufficient quality. We tested the ability of volunteers relative to professionals in identifying invasive plant species, mapping their distributions, and estimating their abundance within plots. We generally found that volunteers perform almost as well as professionals in some a...

assessing metacognitive awareness and learning strategies as positive predictors in promoting l2 learners’ reading comprehension

the purpose of this thesis was to investigate how differently metacognitive, cognitive, and social/affective strategies affect l2 learners’ reading comprehension. to this end, the study employed a quasi-experimental design with a placement test as a proficiency test to find the homogeneity of groups. three classes were randomly selected as the experimental groups (n =90), and each class was tau...

Metabolite Parameters as an Appropriate Alternative Approach for Assessment of Bioequivalence of Two Verapamil Formulations

A bioequivalence study of two verapamil formulations (generic verapamil tablets and Isoptin® tablets) was performed by comparing pharmacokinetic parameters of the parent drug and its major metabolite, norverapamil following a single dose administration of 80 mg verapamil hydrochloride in 22 healthy volunteers according to a randomized, two-period, crossover-design study. Moreover, the feasibili...
